The fishing at Crow Rock is a fantasy for anglers – big Bass, Pike, Lake Trout and Musky, all obtainable on a fly rod! The bass, pike and musky fishing is particularly exciting for topwater fly fishers.
Topwater for bass, poppers in black & green worked well. Streamers and wooly buggers also worked well subsurface. For the Pike and Musky, they liked big flies. For the bass a moderate to fast-action six or seven weight worked well. For the Pike and Musky, you have to use a fast-action nine or ten weight. These larger sticks help cast big bulky flies in windy conditions plus help tire out big fish effectively.
