PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ONTARIO

One of the many areas Ontario has to offer in our search for bass is the town of Picton in Prince Edward County. This small town offers excellent shopping facilities, live theater, fine heritage homes and public buildings, a beautiful harbor with full service marina as well as six municipal parks. Excellent accommodations at reasonable prices can be found in the area. Adjacent to the Bay of Quinty this area offers excellent fishing for bass, pike, Muskie and walleye.

Walleye, Bass, Pike, Drum (Sheeps Head), Gar Pike and even the occasional Trout or Salmon, to name a few.

The rods that are recommended for most bass fishing are in the 7-8 weight categories. Fast tapers with stout butt sections are needed for casting large wind resistance flies, and for quickly moving the fish out of heavy cover such as weeds or brush.

Large Arbor reels with smooth drag systems are also recommended, as bass are known to be a very hard fighting fish.
