WAWA & SAULT STE MARIE, ONTARIO

The New Fly Fisher crew fished the north shore of lake superior, along highway #17 starting just outside of Wawa on the Michipicoton river, then the Old woman river then the Sand river and finished up in the rapids of Sault Sainte Marie.
From Wawa to Sault Ste Marie, you will find Walleye, Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch, Sunfish, Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Pacific & Atlantic Salmon and Whitefish.

As a minimum, a 9-10 foot 7 weight rod is a good place to start. When you run into the fall, and it gets windy, an 8-weight rod is not overkill.

Large Arbour reels aren't necessary, but enjoyed. Traditional level reels will work as well.
